Online DVD rental store NetFlix.com signed a preferred partnership deal with the All-Movie Guide (AMG) that lets consumers directly access NetFlix.com’s selection of DVD movies through the movie
reviews and filmographies on the AMG Web site.
AMG visitors can browse and order from NetFlix.com’s selection of more than
2,600 DVD titles, all of which are available for rent. Financial arrangements
were not disclosed.
“The All-Movie Guide site offers more information on movies and more
different kinds of movies than any other online source,” said Marc B.
Randolph, president of NetFlix.com. “We are delighted to partner with AMG and
provide its visitors with the easiest way to rent the DVD movies that the All-
Movie Guide reviews.”
“Through this association, we can now offer AMG users the opportunity to rent DVD titles
directly from the All-Movie Guide site, something for which they have been
asking,” said Michael Erlewine, president of the All-Media Guide.
NetFlix.com has partnered with hardware providers Sony, Toshiba, Pioneer,
Apple and Hewlett-Packard to give purchasers of DVD hardware the chance to
obtain free DVD movie rentals online.
Located in Ann Arbor, MI, the All-Media Guide comprises the
databases of the All-Music Guide, the All-Movie Guide, the All-Game Guide and
the (now in development) All-Book Guide.
