Bank of America is bringing banking services to Net device users through a partnership with 724 Solutions Inc. The company said the initiative will turn Net devices into “portable banks.”

Bank of America, one of the nation’s largest banks, will use 724 Solutions’ software infrastructure to allow its customers to access current account balances and transaction details and conduct real-time fund transfers and bill payments.

Testing on these new capabilities will begin next year, the bank said.

This is the second North American agreement for 724 Solutions. In April, the company announced that Bank of Montreal and Bell Mobility had entered into market trials using its software products for wireless banking and investment services.
