TELUS Mobility, Bank of Montreal Introduce Veev

[Calagary, CANADA]– TELUS Mobility and Bank of Montreal have launched wireless banking capabilities through data compatible digital phones.

Veev, Bank of Montreal’s wireless Internet offering based on technology from Canadian software provider 724 Solutions Inc., offers customers mobile access to: bank account balances and transaction details, bill payment, MasterCard transactions and payments, news stories from Canadian Press and Reuters, as well as other services.

Veev is provided through TELUS Mobility’s i-Web Microbrowser service, which allows customers Web access through mobile Internet-ready phones. In addition to wireless banking, i-Web Microbrowser service customers can access Internet sites specially formatted for wireless phones, check directory listings, news, movie listings, and sport scores.

According to Greg Wolfond, chief executive officer, 724 Solutions, Veev’s expansion to Western Canada marks a milestone for the service which was first launched in Ontario and Quibec.

TELUS is Canada’s second largest telecommunications company and provides advanced communication services and products.
