Only days after the launch of StarCite.com as a B-to-B e-commerce
site for the meeting planner crowd, the competition, MeetingCity.com, said it will
launch a consortium site for corporate, association and independent
meeting planners.

MeetingAlliance.com, set to
launch Jan. 16, aims to be a gathering place for meeting professionals,
offering service and assistance.

“We have used our experience building MeetingCity to ascertain our
members needs, and The MeetingAlliance consortium Web site will be very
different in both design and
content, said Derek Atkin, the president of both MeetingCity.com and
MeetingAlliance.com.

MeetingCity is the Internet division of Windsor Consultants, a
provider of outsourcing, technology and interactive meeting services for
meeting planners and their suppliers.

MeetingCity is a portal and
resource center for meeting, event, incentive and corporate travel
planners. The site provides listings of and links to more than 10,000
suppliers worldwide.
