Las Vegas, NV-based Pentagon, Inc., operator of online music store Pentagon CDs & Tapes, is partnering
with Muze, Inc., a provider of digital
information
about music, books and videos, to provide full service retail store
capabilities to other companies.

As part of the partnership, Muze will offer both its existing and new clients
Pentagon’s turnkey system and back end service. Financial arrangements were
not disclosed.

“This new partnership gives Pentagon direct access to existing retailers that
are looking for a presence on the Internet,” said Adam Lilling, CEO of
Pentagon. “By combining Muze’s world leading database with Pentagon’s online
retailing expertise, this full service e-commerce solution will allow
companies to spend their time and money marketing their brand rather than
trying to reinvent the e-commerce wheel.”

Pentagon’s end-to-end license provides existing businesses immediate online
retail capabilities including, store design; implementation into Pentagon’s
proprietary e-commerce engine; Web site hosting; round-the-clock site
maintenance; transaction processing; warehousing; fulfillment; and full-time
customer service. Upon request, Pentagon will provide a licensee the internal
ability to process its own transactions, service its own customers and do its
own fulfillment.

“Muze today provides the data and services that power 90 percent of the
online music
sites,” said Duncan Ledwith Sr., vice president of sales and marketing at
Muze. “This partnership with Pentagon lowers the barrier to entry for
prospective online retailers.”

Los Angeles-based Pentagon will offer all of the technology it currently uses
in its own online music store, including its technologies for searching and
browsing, affiliate programs, online coupons, automated order tracking and
automated updates by e-mail.
