Atlanta, GA-based interactive company iXL
signed an agreement today with VeriSign to sell and distribute
VeriSign’s digital certificates through its Permit.com proprietary venture.

A division of iXL Holdings, Permit.com sells State of Georgia recreational
licenses and certificates of authentication online.

Digital certificates, or Digital IDs, operate as electronic identifiers
designed to authenticate the identity of individuals to ensure secure
communication, e-commerce transactions, and Web site access.

“We are pleased to be working with iXL and Permit.com to accelerate the
use of digital certificates for Web security,” said Anil Pereira, Director of
Marketing for VeriSign, Inc. “With VeriSign Digital IDs distributed through
Permit.com, business users and consumers will feel comfortable in knowing
that they can transact safely on the Internet.”

iXL Holdings also operates the Consumer
Financial Network
and FANSonly
interactive ventures.
