Domain name registration service register.com and search site HotBot, a Lycos-Network member, said that
register.com will become the exclusive partner of HotBot’s domain name search
page.

On Wednesday, register.com was named as one of the five initial participants in the test phase of the new competitive shared registry system for .com, .net and .org domains.

As part of the deal with HotBot, register.com will power the HotBot domain name search
page with its search and registration services, and will also be the
exclusive sponsor of
the page. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

“For the first time HotBot customers can not only search for a domain name,
they can now register as well,” said Richard Forman, chief executive officer and president of register.com.

Register.com works with Network Solutions to deliver .com, .net and .org TLDs.
It is a division of Forman Interactive Corp., a provider of
Internet-based solutions and electronic commerce development tools for small-
and medium-sized businesses.
