Online discussion company RemarQ Communities Inc. Monday partnered with comparison shopping site mySimon Inc. and added a variety of search services to make navigation through its forums easier for its users.

mySimon offers information on more than 10 million products at 1,600 merchants in categories
such as computers, books & music, electronics, flowers, sporting goods and toys. Its alliance with RemarQ enables users of its 32,000 discussions to use mySimon’s comparison shopping services linked directly from specific forums to related mySimon categories.

The company also unveiled new search, ranking and tracking capabilities to allow users to research
potential purchases more productively. The company promises more relevant search results and a ranking system that rates discussions according to usefulness. Readers can now also track discussions based on a specific keyword, the firm said.

The new services are part of RemarQ’s strategy to integrate e-commerce into its site, said Bill Lee, CEO of RemarQ.

“As RemarQ expands its services and functionality, combining e-commerce opportunities with RemarQ discussion content is a critical step,” said Lee. “The latest improvements to our core discussion services make it even easier for customers to gain the knowledge they need to make informed shopping
decisions. And our partnership with mySimon now enables RemarQ users to move seamlessly from evaluation to purchase.”
