Denver-based Shopbiz.com released its Web-enabled e-
commerce solution, offering merchants a place to establish an Internet
shopping presence without the worry of technical issues or Web positioning.
The company said that with an Internet connection and a Web browser, anyone
can go to
www.shopbiz.com, fill out the registration form and within 24 hours have
their products in a secured Internet shopping environment.
When a merchant sells a product, Shopbiz.com receives a commission from the
sale, which is not charged to the seller. This has proven to be a cost-
effective way to add
e-commerce to small- and medium-size businesses, the company said.
Merchants can add as many products as they choose to the site. The
registration process includes the merchant’s business address, shipping
policies, accepted credit cards, and
passwords for future administration, and secure administration of their
products and orders. Merchants are also able to upload pictures or other
digital images to the site that are then imported into a pre-designed product
page.
MediaComm Broadcasting Systems Inc., Shopbiz.com’s parent company, will
also offer private label e-commerce solutions, providing the core technology
behind Shopbiz.com to merchants that are interested in creating their own
company-branded e-commerce Web site.
MediaComm Broadcasting is a holding company that develops and/or acquires new
Internet-related technologies. On the drawing boards for the company is
Broadcastdirect.com, which will provide streaming live and on-demand media
events over the Web, including business events, distance learning,
entertainment, news and information.
