ShopNow.com Inc. signed an agreement with
search/referral service Ask Jeeves Inc. to provide Jeeves Advisor for
the ShopNow Network.

Businesses will also be able to use the service to find products and services
across ShopNow.com’s b2bNow Network.

Jeeves Advisor is designed to serve as a virtual sales assistant by
recommending products based on customers’ preferences and product features.

ShopNow.com (SPNW) said it will deploy Jeeves Advisor to help visitors choose the
best products for their needs. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

Customers are currently able to search by price, product and store on the
ShopNow Network. Ask Jeeves’ (ASKJ) technology is expected to enhance ShopNow’s
search functionality by matching customers with the best-suited products
based on their feature preferences, the companies said.

ShopNow.com operates an e-commerce network known as the ShopNow Network,
featuring about 48,000 merchants offering millions of products. Through the bottomdollar.com Network, comprised of
more than 2,400 syndicated, affiliate and licensed sites, visitors can
compare factors including price and availability. In January, ShopNow
launched b2bNow.com, a business-to-business portal
and marketplace that aggregates businesses that seek to transact with one
another.
