Thomson & Thomson in Boston, a global
trademark and intellectual property specialist, partnered with domain registrar Network Solutions Inc. to help
small to mid-size firms with launching successful corporate e-commerce
initiatives.
Thomson & Thomson’s namestake.com, an online brand identity management
service, is designed to enable companies to create and protect their identities
on the Web. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
As part of the agreement, this real-time online screening service is accessible via NSI’s Dot Com Toolkit, at
www.networksolutions.com, by simply clicking on the namestake.com logo. Namestake.com, powered by Thomson &
Thomson’s proprietary search technology, is an online service that screens domain names for potential trademark
infringement. With the click of a mouse, users can find a comprehensive database of domain names and trademark information
available on the Web.

conduct business on the Web right away,” said Doug Wolford, Network Solutions’

The namestake.com service was developed to address the issues associated with
building brands on the Internet. As companies continue to extend their brands
to the Web, as well as create new online brands, they are finding that the
stakes for establishing and protecting unique and memorable online identities
are high, T&T said.
