In an effort to reach the growing e-commerce industry globally, Web hosting and e-commerce firm Verio Inc. Monday formed an agreement with CyberSource to offer electronic commerce solutions in a variety of individual currencies.
Verio has agreed to resell CyberSource’s multi-currency payment processing services through Verio’s distribution channels. The service will be available in 29 currencies as part of Verio’s overall international e-commerce utility, designed to offer a host of storefront management applications. It is scheduled for availability on June 1.
CyberSource’s offerings are made to provide merchants with a tool to present products on their Web sites in multiple currencies, while allowing shoppers to buy products in a familiar currency. Its services are offered through partnerships with IBM Global Merchant and National Westminster (NatWest) Bank.
The agreement was made to provide tap into the growing e-commerce industry worldwide, said Herb Hribar, Verio’s president and chief operating officer.
“With this new offering, Verio and CyberSource together are removing the major barriers to entry for international e-commerce by delivering a solution that allows businesses to do what they do best–sell goods and services–regardless of geography or currency. These services are exactly what our 4,000 international resellers have told us they need to help their customers get their businesses online.”
