Trust services company VeriSign Inc. launched a new
PartnerNet
program that it said encompasses relationships with more than 70,000
independent software vendors (ISVs), ISPs, ASPs, Web hosting companies and
other providers.

Partners are able to access a single source for domain names, Web site
digital certificates, online payment services and wireless trust solutions,
VeriSign said.

VeriSign also said that ISVs including O’Reilly & Associates, Zeus, Penguin
Computing, Nuron,
Mirapoint, CyberIQ, Sphera and Covalent have signed agreements to integrate
its Web site digital certificate services with their e-commerce offerings,
accelerating
deployment across their customer bases.

VeriSign’s PartnerNet program enables providers to integrate its range of
trust services into their e-commerce offerings.

The program includes:

  • A variety of services, which can be independently resold, integrated or
bundled with a partners’ offering as a complete e-commerce solution

  • A range of volume-based discounts and billing options for service
    providers
  • Lifecycle services, allowing for seamless addition, renewal and revocation
    of certificates
  • A set of software developer toolkits (SDKs) for provisioning of domain
names, Web site digital certificates, and online payment services
  • A wireless software developer toolkit (SDK)

Our partners serve a tremendous range of customers from new online merchants
to the largest Web portals on the Internet,” said Ben Golub, senior director
    of marketing and sales for
the Internet Services Group at VeriSign.

“By partnering with ISPs, ASPs, Web
hosting companies and other leading providers, this new PartnerNet program
rapidly accelerates the wide availability of secure e-commerce services”
