Mountain View, CA-based VeriSign Inc. expanded its global network
of Affiliate Service Providers to include KPN, a telecommunications company in the
Netherlands, and Certisur in Argentina.

The new affiliates join others across the U.S., Britain, France, Japan, South
Africa and Taiwan, leveraging VeriSign’s global infrastructure for delivering
digital certificate
solutions to businesses wishing to engage in secure e-commerce.

With the addition of these new affiliates, companies in Argentina, Uruguay,
Brazil, Paraguay, Chile and the Netherlands can establish a trust services
infrastructure based on VeriSign’s digital certificate services and software,
the company said.

VeriSign’s Affiliate services serve the needs of major service providers with
high-volume digital certificate issuance requirements, including large-scale
regional or multi-national Certificate Authorities (CAs); Internet service
providers or Web hosting companies; and other entities that operate
Internet-based communities of interest (such as Web
portals).
