WIZnet Launches E-Commerce Portal

WIZnet Worldwide Internet Solutions Network Inc.
recently launched the “eCommerce Portal,” an online community
where businesses can search, source and negotiate with each other on a range
of products and services available on the Internet.

The eCommerce Portal, with its 100,000-plus virtual catalogs, delivers the
same form, fit and function of conventional paper catalogs but in a paperless
environment, and allows businesses to streamline their supply chain management
processes, the company said.

“The eCommerce Portal is an innovative new procurement channel for buyers,”
said Steve Attanasio, WIZnet CEO. “Using the power of WIZnet technology,
this online community brings together like-minded business people interested
in making smarter and faster purchasing decisions.”

The eCommerce Portal enables buyers to search more than 10 million complete
product and service specifications from more than 86,000 suppliers. Searches
can be refined by geography, trade agreements and other criteria.

Once suppliers are identified, the user can view and compare images of more
than 100,000 catalogs and technical diagrams from hundreds of millions of
pages of information identical to those provided by the supplier in paper
form.

The eCommerce Portal also offers a range of features and services, including
requests for bids, business links, business news, a forum for sharing
information as well as My Supplier, a value-added service for buyers and My
Catalog, a value-added service for suppliers.

Pricing is based on an unspecified subscription fee plus an hourly rate.

For a fee, any business large or small can present its catalog(s), brochure or
technical documentation online at the eCommerce Portal, and establish e-mail
and other links to start doing business with more than 6,000 active users.

“By helping suppliers reach more customers at a fraction of the cost of
traditional publishing, providing immediate catalog updates and assisting with
targeted promotions, the eCommerce Portal has established an effective, new
sales channel–one that every business can use to reach a pre-qualified
audience,” said Safwat Fahmy, founder and chairman of WIZnet.
