Many enterprise software firms have begun to bow to the change in the marketplace and are making the move to offer their products as both on-premises and as a software-as-a-service model. BMC is the latest to offer a SaaS version of what had only been an on-premises product. Datamation has the details.
BMC Software on Tuesday announced it’s now making its Remedy IT management software suite available on demand for enterprise customers looking to complement their on-premise applications with a cloud-based offering.
Remedy ITSM On Demand will be available some time in the second quarter of this year. For now, BMC is mum on the new service’s pricing details.
BMC, like so many other software vendors, continues to expand its cloud-based portfolio of applications to provide enterprise customers with the flexibility to choose from both on-premise and cloud-based applications — a hybrid approach that gives customers the lower-priced SaaS options and functionality they need and the security and sense of control they desire for sensitive applications and data.
The on-demand version of Remedy, BMC’s flagship IT process automation platform, will natively integrate ITIL processes with service desk, incident, problem, change, release, asset, service request and service level management, company officials said.
