Users of CRM software-as-a-service player Salesforce.com will soon be able to see their contacts being updated in real time thanks to the new Jigsaw for Salesforce CRM feature that incorporates crowd-sourced business data in the mix.

As a result, Salesforce Chatter users’ contacts can be kept up to date automatically, and they’ll also be able to use the service for prospecting.

The new real-time enhancements to Salesforce.com’s CRM offering build on Salesforce’s acquisition of Jigsaw earlier this year. eCRM Guide takes a look at what’s new.

Denis Pombriant, managing principal of Beagle Research Group, said in a statement that the new offering gives Salesforce CRM users “reliable business data that is updated and published to sales and marketing employees in real time. We’re likely to see more companies turning to data in the cloud to support their dynamic operations.”

With more than 22 million business contacts and 4 million company profiles in Jigsaw, Salesforce is also promoting the service as a way to find new sales leads.
