In the great migration to the cloud, businesses find themselves looking at a crowded playing field of cloud-services providers.
In an effort to bring some kind of order to the derby, Compuware’s Gomez division has begun evaluating the leading cloud providers, ranking their performance by running continuous checks on a random sampling of 150,000 PC users around the world.
“Any given hour we’re running 200 tests,” said Doug Willoughby, Compuware’s director of cloud strategy. “The clients are selected at random.”
For its analysis, Gomez looked at a field of 15 leading cloud providers, including Amazon, Google and Microsoft.
