Arrow Expands Storage Solutions Business

Arrow North American Computer Products (NACP), a division of Arrow Electronics, Inc., a distributor of electronic components and computer products to industrial and commercial customers worldwide, today announced an expansion of its enterprise storage solutions group.

Formerly known as Consan, an Arrow operating unit for mass storage solutions, Arrow Enterprise Storage Solutions (ESS) said it will enhance its resellers’ ability to compete in the enterprise storage market.

According to Arrow, there are three distinct aspects to its expansion: the expansion of its sales force nd technical staff; the opening of a number of multi-platform, interoperability Enterprise Storage Labs opening in 2002; and a suite of storage-specific education and marketing programs that provide value to resellers throughout the sales cycle.

Mike Long, president and COO of Arrow NACP, said, “our initiative will help resellers who are creating storage networking solutions for multiple computing platforms, as well as those who would like to develop storage practices but don’t have the resources to do it themselves,” said Long. “As the only distributor franchised for all major storage and computing platforms, Arrow is in a unique position to launch ESS. By combining that with our extensive reseller portfolio and the financial strength of Arrow, we will create the premier enterprise storage and storage networking organization in North America.”

Two of the Enterprise Storage Labs will open — in Atlanta and Minneapolis — by early 2002, to be followed by openings of two more labs by mid-2002.
