Astrum Software Introduces Storage and Server Migration Solution

Astrum Software Corporation, a provider of storage resource management software, today announced the introduction of StorCast(R) Migration Solution, a combination of software and services the company said is designed to help clients plan for storage and server consolidation and enable them to move toward storage-centric computing environments.

According to Astrum, the Solution automatically evaluates current storage and system infrastructures and provides detailed usage, trend and file reports to simplify an organization’s storage consolidation, migration and SAN/NAS deployment.

“As enterprises continue to scrutinize IT budgets, it is now a requirement for many organizations to improve storage and system ROI and move toward efficient models for IT infrastructure management,” explains Robert Infantino, President and CEO, Astrum Software. “Astrum’s clients have been demanding a solution set that helps ease the pain of data migration and server consolidation. Astrum’s StorCast Migration Solution is designed to help them do that.”

“SRM solutions are invaluable for companies that are migrating their existing storage resources to networked storage environments. However, few companies have the manpower or expertise to effectively interpret SRM results in order to determine the appropriate migration path,” explained Nancy Marrone, senior analyst, Enterprise Storage Group. “Astrum has addressed this with their StorCast Migration Solution by not only providing the SRM software, but also bringing storage expertise to companies through their professional services organization. The marketplace needs this solution right now to take advantage of the full power of SRM applications.”

StorCast Migration Solution will be based on a subscription price, which includes software, services, technical support and maintenance. Subscriptions are available in 3-, 6-, 9- and 12-month options.
