BakBone Software(TM) today announced today its membership in the EMC E-Infostructure(TM) Developers Program. In addition, BakBone will qualify EMC’s CLARiiON(R) IP4700 and FC4700 information storage systems with its NetVault(TM) NDMP APM(TM) and engage in joint marketing activities to support the solutions.
The company said that through the EMC E-Infostructure Developers Program, EMC provides wide-scale access to its application programming interfaces (APIs), enabling independent software developers to select from, and rapidly integrate, a large variety of information management, sharing and protection tools.
“EMC’s ongoing commitment to interoperability extends to our partners in the E-Infostructure Developers Program,” said Linda Wright, Senior Director of Global Alliances at EMC. “As a member of the program, BakBone will work closely with EMC to integrate our technologies to help provide customers with interoperable, comprehensive solutions for networked storage systems and software. It is integral for EMC to work with partners such as BakBone to lower our customers’ total cost of ownership with integrated solutions.”
“BakBone recognizes the requirements of the enterprise for storage management software that interoperates with a variety of applications and storage systems. The increasing requirement for central management of SAN, DAS, and NAS systems validates BakBone’s strategy of offering modular backup and restore software that adapts and scales across the data center,” said Randy Batterson, Vice President of Strategic Alliances for BakBone Software. “We are delighted to partner with EMC on these important storage issues.”
