Gadzoox Networks, a global supplier of intelligent Storage Area
Network (SAN) products, today announced the appointment of
Steven M. West, former CEO of Entera Inc., and Sylvia Summers,
group vice president, Cisco Systems, to the Company’s board of
directors.
“As part of our strategic direction and focus for the company,
we have been bringing in top talent and building a strong
leadership team,” said Gadzoox Networks’ president and CEO,
Michael Parides. “Steve and Sylvia bring extensive industry
experience to our board of directors, and they will provide an
important strategic viewpoint regarding the convergence that
is occurring in the storage and networking markets.”
Steven M. West has over 15 years of storage experience, most
recently as CEO of Entera, a content management company. He
has also held various executive positions with EDS, including
president and CEO of Hitachi Data Systems (a joint venture
between Hitachi and EDS) and president of the Infotainment
business unit. West serves on the board of Cisco Systems,
where he is also the chairman of the audit committee. He has
previously held board positions with the Greater Bay Area
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and KTEH Public Television.
Sylvia Summers has more than 20 years of storage and
management experience in the high-tech sector. She is
currently employed at Cisco Systems as group vice president in
the Service Provider Line of Business, a $4 billion business
group. Summers previously held executive and management
positions at StorageTechnology, Group Bull, Motorola and Texas
Instruments.
