StorageTek(R) this week announced it has joined with Crossroads Systems to provide fibre channel (FC) connectivity to its L20/L40/L80 tape libraries.

“We’re pleased to be working with StorageTek to offer cost-effective solutions for our customers,” said Larry Sander, Crossroads Systems president and chief operating officer. “Enhancing StorageTek’s L20/L40/L80 series of tape libraries with our routers offers state-of-the-art solutions for both large companies with distributed computing environments as well as small to medium size businesses with multiple networks.”

The FC to SCSI router option is provided by Crossroads to StorageTek and is based upon their 4250 SCSI/FC router technology.

“Crossroads Systems industry-leading fibre channel technology will enhance our L20/L40/L80 tape libraries,” said Pete Koliopoulos, StorageTek director of marketing, Automated Tape Solutions. “Providing fibre channel capability along with StorageTek’s support of mixed media; DLT, SDLT, LTO Ultrium drives in the L20/L40/L80 tape libraries is the latest example of how we are giving customers more options to address their particular storage needs.”
