Dot Hill Achieves Certification in Linux NetworX’s Oracle-Based Cluster

Dot Hill’s SANnet storage system recently achieved certification on the new Linux NetworX Eclipse(TM) Database Cluster, a high-availability cluster based on the Oracle9i(TM) Real Application Cluster architecture.

“As Linux-based systems become more sophisticated, the need for integrated solutions becomes increasingly important,” said Dana Kammersgard, chief technology officer for Dot Hill. “There is a great deal of synergy between the SANnet product line, Linux NetworX solutions and the Oracle database. Our products virtually eliminate downtime by providing users with highly available, scalable and fault-tolerant systems. These features give customers the security they need to run their critical business information.”

The Linux NetworX Eclipse Database Cluster is a turnkey solution, comprising “best of breed” components that are pre-configured to deploy e-business applications such as data mining, data warehousing, customer relationship management, and online application processing. Existing Oracle customers wishing to grow their database capabilities can implement the system and seamlessly add storage capacity as needed, without taking the database offline.

According to Kevin Rose, Linux NetworX Enterprise Systems Business Director, “Industries that benefit from Linux NetworX database clusters include high-end Internet Service Providers (ISPs), retailers, manufacturers, government and education. Customers in these industries need high levels of reliability, a flexible way to scale their operations, fast data communications and the ability to manage large amounts of data and storage.”

Sandy, UT. based Linux NetworX, whose customers include Compaq, Motorola and Northern Telecom, focuses almost solely on large-scale Linux cluster implementations.
