Dot Hill Debuts SANnet Axis in Europe

Dot Hill Systems Corp. , a provider of carrier-class information storage and storage area network (SAN) solutions, this week unveiled its SANnet(TM) Axis intelligent storage appliance for the first time in Europe at Stockage 2001 — IT Storage Forum, at the Paris Expo Porte De Versailles.

Dot Hill said SANnet Axis provides the ability to consolidate, aggregate and provision storage (SCSI or Fibre Channel devices) over Internet Protocol (IP) and Fibre Channel (FC) networks. It will be demonstrated September 25-27 in Dot Hill’s booth K 12.

According to Dot Hill, SANnet Axis is the first advanced intelligent network storage device that combines appliance level simplicity with advanced enterprise functionality, enabling corporate IT managers to significantly reduce storage management costs. SANnet Axis combines multi-protocol support — including SCSI, Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet — to deliver any-to-any connectivity for servers and storage assets, and an advanced storage virtualization engine that allows administrators to achieve improved use of existing storage assets by carving virtual storage pools across existing network storage hardware, including SAN and NAS storage resources.

Dot Hill will also demonstrate SANnet 7128 switchless SAN, the Ultra160-enhanced SANnet 3300 and 4300, and the 1U (1.75″ high) rackmountable SANnet RAID Blade(TM).
