EMC and Citrix Forge Alliance

Jun 12, 2001

EMC Corporation and Citrix Systems, Inc. today announced the formation of an alliance that, according to the companies, will help customers, including service providers, centrally manage both applications and information as they deliver network access to end users. The development alliance paves the way for a single point of control for managing applications and information to help customers reduce costs, simplify server management and offer new services.

As part of the relationship, EMC will become a Premier member of the Citrix Business Alliance(TM) (CBA) and Citrix will join EMC’s E-Infostructure(TM) Developers Program. The companies have begun scalability testing and engineering work on Citrix MetaFrame(TM) application server software with EMC’s Celerra(R) and CLARiiON(R) IP4700 network attached storage solutions. In addition, the companies will work together on sales, marketing and support initiatives, including the development of white papers that will highlight best-practices implementations of the two technologies. Both companies currently use each other’s solutions as part of their information technology systems.

EMC and Citrix will demonstrate the interoperability and value of the two solutions at the EMC Platinum Sponsor exhibit booth at Citrix iForum Northern Europe in London beginning June 13. The conference is designed for IT innovators as well as Citrix resellers, systems integrators, alliance members and ASPs, to exchange ideas, successes and strategies on application server computing.
