FalconStor Software, Inc. today announced it has integrated Emulex Corporation’s new Giganet(R) GN9000/SI iSCSI host bus adapter (HBA) to showcase interoperable IP-based storage networking solutions at Networld + Interop show in Las Vegas, this week.

Emulex and FalconStor’s demonstration features the Emulex GN9000/SI iSCSI HBA, which is used to connect application servers to FalconStor’s IPStor virtual storage server as iSCSI Targets, resulting in an end-to-end IP-based storage area network. The joint demonstration proves that leading iSCSI hardware and software vendors are collaborating to quickly bring-to-market fully interoperable IP storage networking solutions.

The Emulex GN9000/SI provides the high performance iSCSI connectivity over gigabit Ethernet for PCI-based systems, and leverages Emulex’s widely-adopted service level interface (SLI), which is used by many of the industry’s leading server and storage providers to build high performance Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs). Emulex’s new iSCSI products will also implement the iSCSI and TCP/IP protocols in both hardware and firmware on a gigabit Ethernet HBA to ensure high performance, flexibility and low CPU utilization.
