Fujitsu to Sell INRANGE Storage Networking Solutions

Fujitsu Technology Solutions (FTSI) announced it will sell and support the INRANGE Technologies IN-VSN family of storage networking solutions, including the FC/9000 Fibre Channel Director, the CD/9000 Channel Director and INRANGE channel extenders as components of its InfraCare service offerings.

The companies said IN-VSN, the INRANGE Virtual Storage Networking architecture, consists of layered hardware and intelligent software services that extend data from the core-to-edge-to-anywhere and allow for the creation of heterogeneous global storage networks.

INRANGE said ExtendedVSN, integrated in the operating system of the FC/9000, supports the seamless, online expansion of the FC/9000 from 24- to 256-ports today without any disruption to the network. With a fully redundant architecture, the FC/9000 Fibre Channel Director is designed for supporting data intensive, high-availability applications such as backup and recovery, business continuance, ERP, and data/resource sharing. The CD/9000 Channel Director manages ESCON and FICON host channels, allowing any-to-any data transfer between mainframes and peripherals.

In North America and Europe, Fujitsu Technology Solutions said it offers InfraCare services in partnership with the Fujitsu Group companies. The company said it offers a single point of contact and the capability to deliver consulting and management services that span enterprise IT infrastructure deployment, operational environment support, project lifecycle management, and E-business and legacy system support.
