CNT announced that its IP storage router, the UltraNet Edge Storage Router, has been certified to support Hewlett-Packard Company’s remote data replication software.
The company said that in a test environment using HP Continuous Access XP over Fibre Channel disk mirroring software, the storage router connected the HP Surestore Disk Arrays XP512 and XP48 over a distance of 25,000 miles.
“Companies that are re-evaluating their data and business continuity applications will find significant strategic advantages to this solution,” said Mark Knittel, VP of Worldwide Product Operations at CNT. “This product relationship leverages the expertise of CNT and HP, providing customers with a complete, jointly tested and certified solution that includes integration and support services.”
“By supporting the CNT UltraNet Edge Storage Router with the industry leading HP Surestore Disk Arrays XP512 and XP48 and HP Continuous Access XP software, we’re giving customers another choice in the way they deploy their HP disaster recovery solutions,” said Neal Clapper, General Manager of HP’s Network Storage Array Solutions. “Customers can now use their existing IP network to mirror and migrate data across large distances. This is a real alternative to deploying a dedicated WAN.”
According to HP, the HP Surestore Continuous Access XP and XP Extension are high-availability data and disaster recovery solutions that deliver host-independent real-time remote data mirroring between XP disk arrays.
