IBM’s TotalStorage Network Attached Storage (NAS) 200 products have earned Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) qualification and are now on the Windows Hardware Compatibility List (HCL).

“Customers are experiencing tremendous growth in the amount of data they need to manage in today’s database and messaging application environments and are turning to network attached storage products to help handle this growth,” said Keith White, senior director of marketing for the Embedded and Appliance Platforms Group at Microsoft. “IBM’s NAS products are great examples of low-cost, high-performance storage solutions that protect customer’s data and ease storage management for Microsoft SQL Server and Exchange Server applications.”

By being listed on the HCL, the company said customers can be assured that these products are fully compatible with the Windows NT and Windows 2000 operating systems and will receive technical support from Microsoft Corp. for them. Microsoft’s HCL identifies for customers and resellers products that function well with the Windows operating system.
