Lane15 Delivers Management Software to InfiniBand Vendors

Lane15 Software, a developer of InfiniBand(TM)management software, today announced that it is delivering standalone management software for heterogeneous InfiniBand fabrics to IBM, Intel, Banderacom, QLogic, InfiniSwitch and OmegaBand. All of which are using Lane15’s Fabric Manager(TM) to test their products for interoperability.

InfiniBand Architecture is a new channel-based, switched fabric technology designed to solve the input/output (I/O) bottleneck that slows down data transfers between servers and peripherals in corporate data centers. Before InfiniBand hardware can be made available to network administrators, the products must be tested using management software.

“We have accomplished a significant milestone in becoming the first company to deliver standalone management software to InfiniBand vendors,” said Alisa Nessler, president and CEO of Lane15 Software. “Lane15’s Fabric Manager is assisting the engineering efforts of several leading InfiniBand hardware vendors, including IBM, Intel, Banderacom, QLogic, InfiniSwitch and OmegaBand. Over time we expect our fabric management software to play a key role in the development, testing and deployment of all InfiniBand products.”

“IBM is using the Lane15 Fabric Manager to test IBM DB2 solutions using the InfiniBand I/O fabric and IBM eServer xSeries servers,” said Dr. Tom Bradicich, director, Architecture and Technology, IBM eServer xSeries. “Lane15’s Fabric Manager enables us to integrate into our system quickly and efficiently. We are enthusiastic about the enterprise capabilities and interoperability of InfiniBand subnets.”

This developer edition of Lane15’s Fabric Manager is the first in a series of product releases from Lane15 Software.
