LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., a supplier of storage solutions for the open enterprise, today announced that it successfully passed an extensive audit against the new International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 standard.
The audit was conducted by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Inc. over four days at the LSI Logic Storage Systems’ facility in Wichita, Kansas, which is where the company’s MetaStor(R) family of storage systems are manufactured. The audit addressed all aspects of storage systems production from engineering design through manufacturing and shipment of products.
“LSI Logic Storage Systems’ certification against the new ISO 9001:2000 standard demonstrates that our ongoing effort to identify customer requirements and assess their satisfaction is producing tangible, market-leading results,” said Ron Engelbrecht, vice president and general manager of LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc. “ISO 9001:2000 certification also substantiates our dedication to continuous improvement through rigorous evaluation of our organizational processes.”
ISO 9001:2000 standard supercedes ISO 9000:1994 and was officially released by the International Organization for Standardization in December of 2000. The new standard requires organizations to improve product quality through identification of customer requirements, delivery of products that meet customer expectations, and analysis of customer satisfaction. The new standard also requires organizations to evaluate the effectiveness of established improvement processes.
