IBM subsidiary Mylex today announced it is offering its value-added resellers (VARs) and system integrators significant price reductions across the board for Mylex AcceleRAID(TM) and eXtremeRAID(TM) controllers. Mylex plans on reducing prices by up to 25 percent, or $400.

According to Mylex, the price reductions come on the heels of Mylex’s new Qualification Unit Program, a reseller incentive that offers qualified VARs discounts up to 40 percent off list prices to buy and evaluate up to two of each Mylex RAID controller model, along with a money-back guarantee on those units.

Mylex AcceleRAID and eXtremeRAID controllers offer support for RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5, 10, 30, 50 and JBOD, and most major operating systems, including Windows NT, Windows 2000, Linux (through third parties), NetWare, Sun Solaris, SCO UNIX, SCO UnixWare, and DOS.

New suggested list pricing starts as follows: AcceleRAID 170LP, $399; AcceleRAID 170, $499; AcceleRAID 352, $799; eXtremeRAID 2000, $1,499; and eXtremeRAID 3000, $1,999.
