Mylex, an IBM Company and a supplier of RAID controllers, this week announced that several server vendors, including Acer, Fujitsu, Samsung Electronics America, and Unisys are currently shipping Mylex’s AcceleRAID 352 in their respective product lines.
“Mylex’s long-standing relationships with these server vendors reflect on our ability to consistently deliver RAID solutions that feature high performance, ease-of-use and high data availability in a variety of storage and server environments,” said Suresh Panikar, senior director of Product Marketing for Mylex. “We are committed to supporting our customers with the latest advancements in RAID technology.”
According to Mylex, the AcceleRAID 352 is ideal for midrange and entry level servers, as well as high performance workstations that require full RAID features and functionality, offering RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5, 10, 30, 50 and JBOD configuration capabilities. A dual-channel Ultra 160 SCSI to PCI RAID controller, it supports all major operating systems, including Windows NT, Windows 2000, Linux (through third parties), NetWare, Sun Solaris, SCO UNIX, SCO UnixWare and DOS, and can connect up to thirty devices for a capacity of 2.16 terabytes per controller.
The AcceleRAID 352 ships with Mylex’s Global Array Manager software. It also comes with RAID EzAssist, Mylex’s configuration utility, and Immediate RAID Availability, which enables the array to be used as soon as it is configured.
The controller is available now through Mylex OEM server partners or Mylex’s worldwide channel network, which includes distributors, resellers and systems integrators.
