amerivault this week announced the opening of a second mass storage vault at SunGard’s Philadelphia data center. The company said the SunGard facility is the largest business recovery facility in North America, providing complete hot site services and support.

According to merivault’s VP of Alliances, Robert Wojnowski, the backup and restore service provided by amerivault complements the SunGard offering, “being able to restore data, online, within hours, to the same location as their hot site facility, allows amerivault and SunGard customers to drastically shrink their recovery window.”

The companies said the combination of services, servers and facilities offered by SunGard plus automated, data backup and restore by amerivault, offers customers a high level of speed and recoverability for business continuity.
