Quantum’s NAS Products Obtain Solaris Ready Certification

Quantum Corp. , a provider of data protection and network storage systems, announced its Snap Server products, including the Snap Server 4100, Snap Server 2200 and Snap Server 1000, have achieved Solaris Ready Certification from Sun Microsystems, Inc. Solaris Ready Certification indicates that Snap Server products have passed Sun’s standards for reliability, integration and ease of installation into Solaris 8 Operating Environment (OE).

“In furthering the development efforts for the Solaris platform, the Solaris Ready logo can assist in identifying that products are rigorously tested for reliability, integration and ease-of-installation into the Solaris 8 OE,” said Patrick Chang, director within the Sun Developer Network of Sun Microsystems, Inc. “The Quantum Snap Server products have been rigorously tested and certified to interoperate with Sun’s server platforms including the new Sun Fire line of servers.”

The companies said the Solaris Ready Certification program is designed to provide customers a recognizable symbol for tested Solaris platform software products from third-party solution providers. To receive the Solaris Ready designation, products must complete a rigorous testing process conducted by KeyLabs, an independent computer products testing laboratory. KeyLabs evaluates products for interoperability, platform support, Solaris compliance, ease-of-installation, driver compatibility, and product documentation.
