Adaptec, Inc. today announced a strategic relationship with NEC, Japan, in which the companies plan to jointly develop iSCSI solutions involving Adaptec’s iSCSI host bus adapters and NEC servers and external storage products. The two companies said they will share compatibility test results and engineering specifications, and cooperate in co-marketing activities to promote sales to customers.
“Collaborating with Adaptec, we expect that NEC will be able to provide high quality server solutions to the fast-growing iSCSI SAN market, with the high levels of interoperability and value that have become synonymous with the Adaptec name,” said Yuzo Oomori, general manager, System File Products Division at NEC Corporation.
