Network Appliance and Landmark Graphics Expand Partnership

Network Appliance, Inc. , a provider of network-attached data access and content delivery solutions, and Landmark Graphics Corporation today announced that Network Appliance(TM) storage solutions, including the new high-performance NetApp(R) F880 filer, will be deployed to support GrandBasin, a provider of hosted data and applications services for upstream exploration and production.

In addition, GeoGraphix, a Landmark unit and an integrated geophysical and geological applications company for the Windows(R) desktop has certified Network Appliance as its preferred storage provider for its suite of Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R)/Windows 2000 oil and gas exploration software.

“Network Appliance gives us the functionality and performance required to deliver upstream oil and gas applications in a hosted environment,” said John Faraguna, president of GrandBasin. “Their solutions are easy to integrate into our heterogeneous environment and meet the demanding needs of E&P applications.”

“Landmark’s customers will realize a more efficient deployment of data and a lower total cost of ownership as a result of Landmark’s global data fabric deployment incorporating NetApp solutions and GeoGraphix Network Appliance NT certification,” said Mark Santora, senior vice president of marketing at Network Appliance. “We will be able to further improve the exploration process and reduce the time to production. We will also deliver higher levels of availability and scalability across the global enterprise, in effect better managing mission-critical data which is the lifeline of the upstream E&P industry.”
