QLogic Corp. today announced it is now shipping its SANbox2(TM) 16 port Fibre Channel switches to OEM customers. According to the company, SANbox2 operates at 2 Gigabits per second, which is double the throughput speed and twice as many ports in the same form factor and at the same price as existing 1 Gigabit switch products.

The SANbox2 is part of QLogic’s complete suite of end-to-end infrastructure products for scaleable, interoperable 2 Gigabit SAN solutions. It is aimed at solving the SAN market’s biggest challenges, interoperability and management.
