RapidStream Partners to Secure Storage Over IP

VPN vendor RapidStream, Inc. today announced alliances with two storage area network (SAN) providers, Nishan Systems and FalconStor, to enable secured storage transport across shared IP networks.

RapidStream’s VPN/firewall appliances that use RapidCore(R) acceleration technology to secure IP traffic have been certified under the SecureSAN(TM) program by Nishan Systems and approved by FalconStor. According to RapidStream, these alliances allows SAN customers to leverage their existing network infrastructures and resources to employ a high-speed, secure SAN over IP rather than using a Fibre Channel environment.

“RapidStream strives to provide VPN/firewall appliances with unmatched speed and performance levels to a wide range of customers,” said Vince Liu, president and CEO of RapidStream. “We are proud that FalconStor and Nishan Systems, leaders in the storage area network field, have endorsed our products, proving that RapidStream’s cutting-edge technology provides strong security solutions at the speed and performance levels critical for these types of applications.”
