SAN management software company SANavigator Inc. today announced that its agent-less, Java-based storage management application SANavigator(TM) Version 1.6 now supports Auto Discovery and other SAN management features of McDATA Fibre Channel switches and software.

“We’re pleased with the flexibility of the SANavigator SAN management software,” said Chris Allo, director of software product marketing at McDATA. “The opportunity to use SANavigator to manage McDATA switches and directors, as well as storage and server devices in a storage network, greatly expands the management applications available to our customers.”

According to SANavigator, recent tests demonstrated automatic discovery through McDATA’s Enterprise Fabric Connectivity (EFC) manager as well as the discovery of inter-switch links for all the McDATA switches tested. SANavigator also recognized a variety of attached storage devices from industry-leading vendors such as Compaq, Clariion, StorageTek, Hewlett Packard and EMC.
