SANgate Systems, Inc. today announced that Patrick Courtin has joined the company as chairman and chief executive officer (CEO).

The company said Mr. Courtin brings over twenty years of CEO and senior management experience with technology focused companies such as Gensym Corporation, M3i Systems and Proteon.

“I am thrilled to join SANgate Systems at such an exciting time for the company,” said Patrick Courtin. “At the rapid pace that the data storage market is currently moving, I look forward to building on the company’s solid strategies as we continue to grow into a powerful force in the enterprise data management market. With the company’s combination of strong technology and seasoned talent, I believe that SANgate is well positioned to become a market leader in the months and years ahead.

Courtin joins SANgate from Gensym Corporation where he served as chairman, president and CEO and, according to SANgate, transformed the Gensym from a customized applications company to a product company selling intelligent, out-of-the-box software to manage real-time networked applications and infrastructure.
