SANgate Systems this week announced the addition of John Cummings as vice president of Sales.
Cummings comes to SANgate with more than 20 years of sales experience with Sungard Business Integration, Sun Microsystems Computer Corp. and Data General Corp. As vice president of Sales, the company said, Cummings will play an integral role developing SANgate’s sales and distribution strategy and building the company sales organization.
“SANgate’s focused effort to attract a talented and experienced management team has been a critical part of the company’s growth activities as we position ourselves to become a powerful force in the competitive data storage arena,” said Paul Feresten, President and Chief Operating Officer of SANgate. “John’s 20 year track record in leading sales activities at well-established companies in the high-tech marketplace is key to rapidly expanding SANgate’s customer and partner base.”
Prior to SANgate, Cummings served as Managing Director of the Americas at Sungard Business Integration where he managed all United States operations including sales, business development, marketing, professional services, administration, and human resources.
As Director of Sales, Financial Services Region at Sun Microsystems Computer Corporation, Cummings managed the largest end-user sales region in the Americas. His 13 years of leadership helped Sun expand sales operations and bring on some of the company’s largest contracts including Raytheon, Colgate, Salomon Smith Barney and Pratt Whitney.
Additionally, Cummings has held sales and marketing positions at Data General Corp.
Cummings received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts and is a member of the Cape Cod High Technology Council.
