SanOne Introduces New NAS Data Server

Dec 4, 2001

Sanone Inc., an Alanco Technologies company, today announced the roll out of the new DS2000 Enterprise NAS Data Server.

The company said the DS2000’s modular architecture allows scaling of up to 32 Intelligent Storage Modules (ISM) with up to 10TB of managed and protected data storage capacity. Each ISM includes four disk drives with up to 320GB mirrored storage space and a processor with 512MB RAM. Each ISM can independently manage I/O, cache, storage and utility functions.

Using the HSM feature (the integrated policy-based storage management software), Sanone said the system can take advantage of online/nearline storage devices in the network by offloading less important data in a timely manner.
