Network storage companies BiTMICRO NETWORKS Inc. and Storage 2000, parent company of Storage Area Solutions, plan to demonstrate the fruits of the integration of BiTMICRO’s solid-state fibre channel E-Disk product with Storage 2000’s Agility Flash Solid State Module (AFSM) at FOSE, an IT event for the government market.
“We chose the BiTMICRO product as the core component in the AFSM,” said Ken Tratar, president and CEO of Storage Area Solutions, “because flash-based solid state disks present a better value proposition, which we can pass on to our buyers. In addition, the BiTMICRO product provides a significantly better footprint for our use of a solid state product. Preliminary evaluations of specifications show that by utilizing the BiTMICRO product in our SAN/storage combination, we can provide our clients a significant increase in system performance. ”
According to BitMICRO, its E-Disk Fibre Channel series has no moving parts for reliability, making it suitable where 24×7 data availability is essential. It also require no batteries and can withstand operating temperatures from -40 to +85 degrees centigrade as well as 1,500 Gs of operating shock.
