Storage vendor Storage Engine, Inc. has reduced its staff by seventeen.

According to the company, the reductions relate to a general trend in the data storage industry of reduced orders resulting in losses. Storage Engine said its reductions did not effect Storage Engines Sales and Marketing Departments.

The company said its Synchronism product line, as well as its Synchronix product line, Synchronection 2, and Raven systems, are all modular units that can be configured and stacked to meet customers’ specific and expanding data storage requirements.

The company views its direct competition as companies such as EMC, Network Appliance, and Sun Microsystems.
