Storage Technology Corp. (StorageTek) has formed a cooperative support agreement with Veritas Software to address the support needs of mutual customers.

“StorageTek is dedicated to open environments in terms of both opening direct mutual support channels with partners and promoting the establishment of open systems standards,” said Tim Steadman, StorageTek Director of Corporate Alliances. “Our longstanding relationship with VERITAS Software is further strengthened by this new Cooperative Support Agreement. The agreement offers customers deploying both StorageTek hardware and VERITAS storage software a seamless process to get issues resolved — based on the expertise and knowledge of both companies’ representatives.”

The companies said the agreement paves the way for efficiently addressing customer inquiries by pooling experts from StorageTek and Veritas to solve any problems at customer sites using product offerings from both companies. Customers can call one company or the other to address technical problems.
