StorNet Makes Monitoring Service Available

Feb 27, 2002

StorNet, a provider of networked storage services, recently announced the availability of StorTrust(SM) Monitor, a storage resource management service (SRM) that the company said provides secure 24×7 storage monitoring.

According to StorNet, StorTrust Monitor allows customers to retain control of their storage and data while still gaining the cost benefits of outsourcing SRM services, warning them of critical storage problems that could cause costly outages.

StorNet said StorTrust Monitor is powered by Tek-Tools, Inc.’s SRM technology, which captures SNMP data from the customer’s environment, determines the criticality of errors, and relays the results to a StorTrust technician who uses this data to identify and troubleshoot the storage issues. Depending on the nature of the error, hardware technicians can be dispatched, or additional information pulled from the customer’s location to identify and troubleshoot the problem.
