VERITAS Software today announced two new storage software capabilities, the new VERITAS FlashSnap(TM) and VERITAS Volume Replicator(TM) solutions.
The company said VERITAS FlashSnap provides up to 32 point-in-time “snapshot” copies of enterprise information for key business applications such as data backup or analysis, while Version 3.2 of VERITAS Volume Replicator makes it easier and less disruptive for companies to move data between multiple locations and environments for disaster recovery and other large data migration applications.
Both VERITAS FlashSnap and VERITAS Volume Replicator are options that build upon VERITAS Volume Manager(TM), which manages storage resources and serves as the foundation of the VERITAS Software storage virtualization platform.
VERITAS FlashSnap is an option of the VERITAS Foundation Suite(TM) and VERITAS Edition(TM) products, which include VERITAS Volume Manager, VERITAS File System(TM), and the VERITAS Database Edition(TM) optimization technologies. VERITAS FlashSnap pricing starts at $3,000. Version 3.2 of VERITAS Volume Replicator, an option to VERITAS Volume Manager, starts pricing at $9000. All products are available immediately.
