Vixel Adds to Board

Vixel Corporation , a provider of storage networking products and technologies, announced that Robert Q. Cordell II has been appointed to the Vixel Board of Directors. The company said Mr. Cordell’s experience includes executive management positions with Hitachi Data Systems and sanrise.


“Rob Cordell joins the Vixel Board of Directors at a very pivotal point in the Company’s transformation to a new business model and a new technology base,” said Jim McCluney, president and chief operating officer of Vixel Corporation. “I feel confident that Rob’s broad scope of experience, technical depth and strategic vision will be of tremendous value and we’re looking forward to his contributions to Vixel Corporation.”


According to Vixel, Mr. Cordell brings over 30 years of management and technical experience in various information technology industries to the Vixel Board of Directors. He is currently chief technology officer at sanrise, a provider of storage software and services for enterprises. Prior to joining sanrise, he served as the senior director of open systems product engineering with Hitachi Data Systems.
